Code Club

We are running Code Club here at Holmescarr Ark and Crafts and are looking for young people between the ages of 9 - 13 to become members.

What is Code Club?

Code Club is a nationwide network of volunteers and educators who run free coding clubs for young people aged 9 - 13. Code Clubs run for 1 hour after school and during the holidays.

There are already over 6,000 Code Clubs across the UK, inspiring the next generation to get excited about computing and digital making.

How does it work?

Code Club provides step-by-step activity sheets for the club members to follow. Using these, the children create games, animations, and websites while learning the key concepts of programming at the same time. Volunteers help by setting up each club session and assisting with the projects.

What do the children learn?

Code Club has resources to teach children in Scratch, HTML/CSS, and Python. Learning to code is more than a vocational skill – it changes the way children analyse and solve problems, and encourages creative thinking and collaboration.

How can you help?

If you have children aged 9 – 13 who would be interested in learning how to programme computers to make games and have some fun, then download the Registration Form and return it once completed to Reception at Holmescarr Ark and Crafts.
